Friday: Came home, had a Taco Bell steak bowl for lunch. I hadn't been to Taco Bell in a few weeks. I usually stop by on Fridays. I guess it is one of the ways that I "treat" myself on the weekends. I decided that I don't need to indulge myself EVERY weekend. So, I'm cutting my consumption down to once or twice per month rather than four times per month.
After lunch, I watched and taped "Oprah." This episode focused on the behind-the-scenes effort it took to put her fiftieth birthday party together. It was a great show.
I took a nap after that. Slept from about 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. I checked my e-mail, surfed the 'net a bit, and then watched "Absolutely Fabulous" on Oxygen at 9:00. Elton John was on this week. I love this new batch of shows that Oxygen is producing. Funny Funny Funny.
At 10:00, talked to Mikey and the Mouse. I ended up staying up until 1:30 a.m. to tape "Oprah: After the Show" on Oxygen. This episode was the companion piece to the behind-the-scenes of the fiftieth birthday party show that aired earlier in the day.
Which brings me to:
Saturday: Woke up at 12:40 p.m. probably because I stayed up so late the night before. Took a bath, ate lunch and did a bit of cleaning. Then I went through box of items I purchased during my trip to Walt Disney World in December. Mikey was nice enough to ship the stuff that I couldn't fit into my suitcase (Thank you :) ). I just hadn't taken the time to go through the box yet.
I know that I haven't posted about the trip yet. I will soon. There is a lot to share. I just need to sit down and write it out.
Saturday night after dinner, the folks and I watched my Collector's Edition 2-Disc DVD of the Disney/Pixar film "A Bug's Life." Until now, it was the only Disney/Pixar venture that I had never seen before. I loved it. The animation, story, everything was awesome. It also helped me to appreciate the "It's Tough to be a Bug" attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom even more.
I watched the "Special Edition" version of "The Lion King" on ABC after that. This is one of my favorite Disney films. I hadn't seen it in a while. I had almost forgotten how much I love that movie.
Talked to Mikey and the Mouse at 10:00. I love giving the Mouse a hard time. It makes me feel complete. *snicker*
Got in bed before midnight to wind down and read a bit. If you will remember back to this past summer, I did a poll asking everybody to vote on what I should read over the summer. Well, I am just getting around to reading those books that I asked you all to vote on in the poll. I finished Whoopi Goldberg's "Book" last week. If you have not read this book you MUST go out and find a copy NOW. It consists of a series of essays about topics like "Time," "Death," "Eggs," "Space," etc. The book is scathingly funny. It is also touching and thought-provoking.
Now that I have finished "Book," last night, I started reading the first book by Ellen Degeneres, "My Point...and I Do Have One." I am only a couple chapters in right now, but so far I like it. I may even go out and get her new one. The name of that book is escaping my memory right now though.
Sunday: Woke up at 10:30 and watched the 2-Disc from my "A Bug's Life" DVD. I love watching all of the behind-the scenes supplements and such. The really good ones are basically film schools in a box. I always get inspired after viewing a project that has been well thought out and created with care.
Tonight, I will be flipping between "The Grammys," "Sex and the City," and "The L-Word." Then I will be getting ready for another work week.
So, that's my weekend. What do you think of the new, updated look? It's the first change I have made since I started this journal.
