Lazy Sunday

At about 2:00 a.m. this morning, it began to rain BUCKETS. The rain kept coming for at least two hours. I am really glad for that though, because we needed the rain in order to stave off a drought. The high's around here have been around 90 - 95 for several days this week.

According to my Mom, at about 9:45 a.m. today our power went off. Apparently a transformer blew and cut the power for our entire block. Luckily, power was restored around 12:45 p.m.

What time did I get up? 12:20 p.m. So I managed to avoid most of the time that we didn't have power.

I have the feeling that today is just going to be a lazy day. I don't really have much planned for the day. I will hopefully chat with DeWayne later tonight. Then after that, I will talk with The Mouse and watch "Six Feet Under," and then talk to Mikey while watching the season finale of "QAF." They REALLY need to extend the series back to 20 - 22 episodes per season. Fourteen is just not enough. By the time the stories start, they have to be wrapped up, sometimes a bit too quickly. By expanding the season back to 20 - 22 episodes the writers will have more time to explore storylines and create good character development. Sometimes the stories just feel so rushed.

Yesterday, I spent time listening to the last two CDs that I purchased while Mikey was here. I bought the latest by Matchbox 20, "More Than You Think You Are," and the latest by Nickelback, "The Long Road." They are both really great.

As I am typing this, I am sitting here watching The Food Network. I am soooooo addicted to that channel, that, AND HGTV. One of these days I will have my own home where I can explore some of the foods that are featured on The Food Network. I need to learn how to cook more. I can cook a few things but not enough to make sustainable nutritious meals off of. Unfortunately, my Mom only cooks a few foods that either she grew up with, or that she cooks really well. She likes trying new foods and such, but never really ventures out into trying to prepare them for herself. As for my Dad, well, he doesn't even know HOW TO TURN ON A STOVE much less cook on one. LOL

I guess that's all for now.
