Tuesday Update...

I had a good weekend.

I basically rested and just bummed around Friday and Saturday. I talked with Mikey and The Mouse on both nights.

DeWayne came over on Sunday. He got here shortly after 2:00 and we watched three movies:

1. Equilibrium - Starring Christian Bale and Taye Diggs. It was a very good sci-fi film that reminds me a bit of the "Matrix" films, and of the film version of Margaret Atwood's novel, "The Handmaid's Tale."

2. Party Monster - Starring Macauley Culkin and Seth Green. This is a good "independent film" that centers around the real-life adventures of New York Club kids Michael Alig and James St. James. It is based on the book by James St. James, "Disco Bloodbath" (I think that's the name of it). The story is true, but of course Hollywood takes some liberties with some things as always. I loved the soundtrack.

3. Kill Bill, Volume One - Excellent film by Quentin Tarrantino. It's actually the only Tarrantino film I've seen all the way through. I have seen clips of his other films in film school, of course, but we never watched an entire film by him in any of my classes. "Kill Bill" is a VERY bloody film, so be warned if movie blood and gore isn't your thing. It's a very stylized film as well that reminded me a bit of the films of John Woo. I am looking forward to seeing Volume Two.

We had pizza for dinner while watching "Kill Bill." Then, DeWayne left at about 8:00 p.m. so that he could get back home in time for work. I do enjoy spending time with him. I still have to come up with a nickname for him.

I called Mikey and The Mouse around 9:00 p.m. and we talked until shortly after 10:00 p.m. So, my social calendar was pretty full on Sunday.

Yesterday and today, I have just been bumming around the house watching TV and such. As you probably know, we have our first storm of this year's hurricane season out there right now. Tropical storm Alex. He is a minor storm thank heavens. Not doing too much damage along the NC coast. My aunt and uncle have some property down there, and they are staying there until October. I hope that they are doing well.

That's my life in a nutshell right now.

Love and hugs to everybody.

(A few of you get wet sloppy kisses with tongue and you know who you are. *snicker*)
