Late Start to the Day

I woke up at 12:19 p.m. today. I think I really just needed to rest. I've been exhausted lately. Although I have to admit that part of what kept me up last night was that I was reading. I started reading a book that I bought this past summer: Micah by Laurell K. Hamilton. This book is part of the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series.

This is the first book that I've ever read by Ms. Hamilton. She's a really good writer. The story moves quickly and she injects a bit of sarcasm and humor into the story as well. An hour-and-a half later, I was 144 pages into the book and this particular book is only about 250 pages total, although after that, there is a sneak preview of another one of her books, Danse Macabre. I bought that book at the same time that I purchased Micah.

Yesterday, I downloaded two Christmas albums on iTunes. I discovered that they have one of the most cherished albums from my childhood: John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together. I still have my vinyl copy of this album that my parents got for me when I was a kid. I'm glad that I was able to get a digital copy, because my vinyl version is fairly worn out. I also downloaded their new Christmas album: The Muppets: A Green and Red Christmas. I can't wait to hear Pepe the prawn's version of Merry Christmas Baby. Ya gotta love the Muppets!!!

We don't have any major plans here at home. Mom is cooking the usual Christmas food, and mom, dad, Milo and myself are just going to spend some time together and relax. I bought Milo some toys, a couple Christmas sweaters and t-shirts, and even a couple Santa hats. One hat is green, has "Santa's Little Helper" stitched on it, and has elf ears attached. Yes, I know it's cheesy, but I couldn't help myself. :-)

I will post more later. I want to do some cleaning and organizing today.
